Introduction to Action Shooting is a combined classroom and live fire event. The training will be provided by safety officers who are certified by at least one of the national Action Shooting organizations (IDPA or USPSA) and who also participate in Action Shooting at the club.

The classroom portion will introduce you to the exciting world of action shooting at Marshfield Rod and Gun Club.  The classroom portion will include :

  1. An explanation of the sport of Action Shooting and the governing bodies
  2. Overview of rules and equipment needs
  3. MRGC action shooting event schedule
  4. Hands on training on drawing a loaded gun from a holster

The classroom portion will be followed by a live fire session in one of our Action Shooting pits. In the case of inclement weather the live fire session will take place in the indoor range.   The live fire session will be an actual action shooting course of fire using action shooting targets and props.
