MILITARY SHOOT

The Club will host the first Military Match of 2018 on Sunday, April 15th. These matches are to honor our veterans and are held on or near Patriot’s Day and Veteran’s Day.

This match starts at 10 AM and will be held rain or shine at the Outdoor Range. The match is open to all Club members and to the general public as well. Posters regarding this match are posted on bulletin boards around the Club and other match information can be found on the Club website.

Firearms that are allowed are basically any firearms used by any military at any time. Pistols and rifles must have iron sights only.  However if you have a rifle with optical sights or one that does not qualify as a military weapon we have a special category for that. Target rifles and optical pistol sights are NOT ALLOWED.
  • Pistol targets are set at 50 feet and rifle targets at 50 yards. The targets are large.
  • Pistol shooters fire 10 shots offhand, all for score. Two hands can be used.
  • Rifle shooters fire 25 shots offhand, and the top 20 shots count for score.
Prizes are awarded for the top 3 scores and a participant is only eligible to win one prize even if they have the highest score in other match categories. That way more individuals can win something.
Free food (chili, clam chowder, snacks, coffee, soda) is provided by the Club.

This is a chance to see, hear and fire military weapons used by the U.S. and its allies and enemies throughout the years. So dust off those Garands and carbines and whatever you have. While not required, the wearing of military gear is encouraged in keeping with the spirit of this event.
